DGN Summer School 2017
Translational Research in Molecular Imaging and Radionuclide Therapy

The DGN Medical Education Committee under the auspices of the German Society of Nuclear Medicine (DGN) offers the annual “DGN Summer School”. This new format of promoting young academics in the field of nuclear medicine was held in 2014 for the first time.

The target audience of the DGN Summer School are excellent medical students, medical doctoral students and young academics coursing their first years of professional education in (nuclear) medicine, medical physics, and (radio) chemistry who are interested in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. The goal is to integrate persons engaged in nuclear medicine into research activities an to grate them into research activities, and to encourage a long-term career in nuclear medicine and connected fields.

The DGN Summer School will be organised as an international training course in english which will be promoted in Germany as well as internationally. The lecture are open for the general public. The participants will actively work on lecture themes in lectures, round-table discussions and case studies in order to learn about the different aspects of the respective topic in detail in a profound scientific level. Social events in the evening complement the scientific program encouraging further exchange and stimulating discussions between the participants and their tutors.

The participants at the hands-on presentations will be selected based on their applications (CV, letter of motivation, reference letter of their supervisor). Successful applicants will receive a grant for the DGN Summer School covering the expenses for accommodation and food. Nationally and internationally distinguished scientists and experts hold the lectures and presentations.
